Job Summary
Provide service and support to internal and external customers, contractors and attorneys throughout the NiSource territories, related to energy investigation, facility damage, and miscellaneous revenue accounting billing executions and collections. Routinely run reports in the Damage Prevention Tracking System (DPTS), relevant to internal and external inquiry. Report and analysis trends, exceptions and opportunities as it relates to improvement within Pipeline Safety and Compliance.
The incumbent must be creative and use knowledge and skills on each individual case, applying appropriate analysis, evaluation and investigation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures prompt, accurate and consistent invoicing and reconciliation of facility damage processing.
Processes Miscellaneous Revenue Accounting (MRA) adjustments, execute cash transfers, and remit journal vouchers.
Utilize WMS, MRA, DIS and DPTS billing, information, tracking software systems.
Inbound and outbound communications related to facility damage billing, collections and reporting.
Refers damage claims to external collection agencies and attorneys.
Collections on third party damages of over $3 million per year.
Helps identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities.
Issues cycle of 60 day letter correspondence regarding payment, demand letters and additionalthird party inquiries.
Processes billing invoices with specific detail related facts pertaining to the damage in an effort for expeditious collections.
Interacts with Contract locators, Billing Exceptions, Revenue Recovery, Hotline and Distribution Operations personnel.
Partners with Engineering Services relevant to gas loss and legal discovery validation.
Improves communications, safety and damage prevention with internal and external stake holders utilizing the Damage Prevention Tracking System's Data Repository.
Increases revenue across to facility damages collections and miscellaneous receivables.
Increases net back from outside collection agencies and attorneys.
Improves metric results as measured by the facility damage scorecards.
Required Qualifications for Position
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong oral and written communication with interpersonal skills as demonstrated by successful interactions with others where tact and diplomacy are needed.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
Working knowledge of mainframe Operations and Billing support systems, i.e. WMS, DIS, and Microsoft Office.
Proficiency in use of personal computers and Windows based software.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
Proven ability to function in an environment with ever changing priorities.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Attention to detail.
Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree from an accredited college.
Demonstrated knowledge of billing/information systems; DIS, MRA, WMS and DPTS.
Knowledge of NGD policies and procedures.
Minimum of 2 years of experience or career equivalent in natural gas distribution operations, billing and collections.
Basic knowledge of underground construction and utility line locating processes.
Basic knowledge of state and federal requirements for facility locating.

$58,400.00 - $81,900.00
