Job Summary
Manages the schedule, scope, cost and key execution components of NiSource’s GPS Precision Data Program. Specific areas of focus include management of GPS mapping of gas facilities (in areas of third party contractors, gas operations and construction), responsible for leading related technology needs (i.e. GPS data projects, equipment software, reporting development, utilization of equipment, etc.), trending and reporting on establish Program metrics and measurement to achieve company goals, ensuring timely and quality input of collection efforts within the company’s Geographical Information System (GIS).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the development, management and project execution of state GPS projects within the program to include schedule, scope and cost
Manages execution of GPS mapping of gas facilities by third party contractors across the NiSource footprint
Manages the quality control and assurance of data life cycle of the Program from the field point of collection to placement into NiSource’s GIS system
Leads in collaboration with key business partners GPS collection opportunities for gas operations and construction work activities
Collaboratively executes quality standards of excellence for program activities
Supports corporate and regulatory development activities through information, testimony, business case development and other needs for key business partners such as Presidents, General Managers, Legal and Regulatory partners
Works with Director and other key partners to develop or adjust program strategies to continue to align with company goals
Manages the development preparation of technical white papers, reports and publications to produce concise, meaningful insight/options for leadership
Drives organizational change and cultivates continuous process improvement initiatives and performance benchmarking
NiSource achievement of industry leadership and organizational goals
Successful alignment and support of the NiSource (and state integrated) damage prevention strategy
Defined and widely accepted GPS Precision Data Program strategy throughout the enterprise
Timely and quality execution of the program efforts and initiatives
Accurate and timely management reports, studies and recommendations that produce information for meaningful assessment by leadership
Strong relationships with executive leadership and other key stakeholders
Collaborative team environment that builds credibility and trust
Supports the progressive development of program team members
Strong understanding through monitoring and tracking of key market trends and best practices
Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Engineering or Science or an equivalent combination of education and gas utility operations experience.
Knowledge and understanding of geospatial and GPS technologies and GIS data and platforms
Minimum of five (5) years of applicable gas utility field operations business experience or gas utility program/project management experience
Adaptability to changing work environments with tight deadlines
Ability to work and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees at all levels of the organization and from other organizations
Demonstrated leadership ability as evidence by prior success in leading teams or projects
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize business demands for team, and set clear team goals, objectives, and strategies.
Requires basic skill and knowledge of general accounting principles and demonstrated ability to successfully manage budgets
Valid driver's license.

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute
Proficient in Microsoft Project
Prefer a thorough understanding of gas operations and construction practices
Good understanding of gas utility industry and regulatory environment
This position can be located anywhere in the NiSource territory with a Columbus, OH preference.

Salary Range:
$125,800.00 - $188,600.00
